Keyboard Shortcuts: Case View

Case View supports a number of keyboard shortcuts. See the sections, below, for more information about keyboard shortcuts.

Case View Navigation Shortcuts

The following navigation shortcuts apply when a coding form is enabled for editing.

KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

DESCRIPTION

Ctrl+PgUp, Ctrl+PgDn

Show previous or next document’s fields. (Previous/next document in the case table.)

Tab,

Shift+Tab

Press the Tab key to navigate from one field to the next (top to bottom) in a coding form, or Shift+Tab to navigate to previous fields.

Custom (Alt+)

Your administrator may define shortcuts for fields in coding forms to allow you to navigate quickly to needed fields. These shortcuts begin with the Alt key. Check with your administrator.

 

Keyboard Shortcuts for Editing in the Case View

Several keyboard shortcuts are used when editing in the case table in Case View.

Shortcut Key

Description

F2 (or double-click)

Press F2 after clicking a field to enable fields for editing. Alternatively, double-click a field to edit it.

Rows enabled for editing appear in bold.

F2 (or Esc)

If editing is enabled, press F2 or Esc to disable editing.

NOTE: To ensure your last change is implemented, use F2 to disable editing. Pressing Esc will disable editing but will not implement the last change.

F6

When field is enabled for editing, press F6 to copy the content of the field in the row above it into enabled field (field above cannot be blank).

F7

When a field is enabled for editing, press F7 to fill currently displayed (all) empty fields in the enabled field’s row with the contents of the row above.

Tab (or Enter)

After editing a field, press Tab or Enter to complete the edit and navigate to the next field in the row and continue editing.

Press Shift+Tab to complete the edit and navigate to the previous field.

NOTE: For a pick or control list, you must scroll in the list and click the needed entry before you press Tab or Enter. (Pressing a key corresponding to the first letter of the item you want will display the item, but Review does not record this action as an edit.)

Ctrl+Down Arrow (or Up Arrow)

After editing a field, press the Ctrl+Down Arrow (or Ctrl+Up Arrow) to complete the edit and navigate to the next (or previous) field in the column and continue editing.

NOTE: For a pick or control list, you must scroll in the list and click the needed entry (or entries) before you navigate out of the field.
